Week 10 -Let's just skip to the end of the week when Lino goes missing for 3hrs!

What a week...it was heading towards a good week with my bday and preparations for Shaun's bday celebrations at school but by the time we get to Friday it was no longer good...it was down right terrifying then it was infuriating!  So lets just skip right to Friday... Friday I had my 2nd day of PMI Symposium and I was really trying to make some connections and some contacts for Aspira.  The day was actually filled with pretty good speakers even though my first session I had to leave 5min in because the guy was not as interesting as I was hoping but overall it was good.  I was suppose to meet up with one guy at lunch but he was always busy so I said I would do it at the end.  Sometime just before the last 2 sessions I get an email from Lino's teacher talking about how he sprayed bug spray in a girls eye...great...good job Lino.  They are out on a field trip today to some Halal Garden picking vegetables (part of the open minds field trips).  Lino has ha...

Week 9 - Things are not always what they seem to be

March 12-18 This week was a week was pretty normal and uneventful but almost every day I felt like I was eating my words or having back track a thought.  It wasn't until the end of the week that I really put it all together but once I did it was like one of those 'aaa ha' moments.  Like when I went to the grocery store and passed a display of water and immediately thought it was a display of vodka...so totally not even close to reality but for some reason I had it in my head it was vodka.  Needless to say I was very disappointed when I went over to get a bottle and realized it was water. There was nothing very special about the week really.  On Wednesday I got to go on a field trip with Lino's class to Mariana Bay Gardens.  It was a true experience.  It is amazing how teachers survive all day with a classroom full of loud nasty kids.  I mean most of the kids in Lino's class were pretty good but there were a few (Lino mainly) who were just always ...

Week 8: Single mom'ing it and my kids are criminals caught on tape!

Week of  March 5th Early start to the week...well it started much earlier because Shaun woke up late/early in the night crying!!! I figured he had a bad dream but when I got into the room it was more than a bad dream. He must have got up to go pee but was either so tired or so disoriented that he just peed next to his bed. Then it looks like he went into the bathroom to pee too but the pee was gone. By this point his feet are soaking wet with pee and cold so he goes to his laundry basket...presumably to take his socks off but gives up at that point and starts crying...then comes my arrival. How do I know this is what happened you might ask...well I tried to ask Shaun but he was half sleep walking and not even close to helpful in assessing the situation. It was like I had to put my detectives hat on and trace the evidence. So that is what I came up with. I followed the pee pee foot steps back to the scene of the crime and that was my theory and there is no one to dispute it so...

Week 7: Shaun not making friends, Chingay festival & Snow in Ireland!

Beautiful view of snowy Cork (Cobh)...amazing Monday - discussion about automatic (aunodadic as Shaun called it) on the train which was so cute...Lino trying to explain to Shaun what automatic means. Then discussions about the name of our stop, Chinese Garden as Shaun loudly announces on the train “there is no Chinese! There is no Chinese!” Thankfully people thought it was funny. He just has no idea how funny he was at that moment. Busy rest of the day for me...shopping first which is always traumatic. I’ve kind of given up on the wet markets at this point so me & fair price are going to become really good friends. Quick workout which took longer to set up than to actually do then I had meeting with career a advisor which for most of it I was not paying attention because she was telling me all about LinkedIn and how wonderful it was and how to create a profile and summary statement blah blah blah. It’s not like I haven’t worked EVER in the past decade I didn’t need a tutoria...
