Week 5 - Vday, playing catch, Mikes bday and Black Panthers movie

This week was busy and fun so much going on...Lino has really learned to ride his bike which is great because he was totally not interested before we left Ireland and now he’s like a super pro. Shaun has also been perfecting his bike skills which is great. Both bikes need to be serviced to get the brakes tightened and all of that stuff but for now we will manage with what we have. Wednesday was a pretty fun day after a morning of trying to get a few things sorted with my bank account and my cell phone and something for Vday. Normally for Valentine’s Day I try to do some baking from Mike but this year it’s just wasn’t happening so instead I let the shops do the baking for me. I was half tempted to go to the famous amos cookie shop because I love that place but instead I tried a bakery and got us a selection of cupcakes. After that I met up with Mike at the boys school in order to see Lino’s 2nd grade art project. Apparently it was all of the 2nd graders who did some sort of art proje...

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

We had our first Chinese New Year celebration in Asia...I can't say it was much of a celebration since we haven't been here very long.  We only did our own thing and hung out at the house but it was still nice.  The boys were off of school on Thursday and Friday (Eve & NY) so on Thursday we had to find something to do while Mike was at work.  I also had it in my head that I was going to make some sort of traditionalish type Chinese New Year dinner so that meant I needed to go shopping which the boys were not happy about.  I tried to get all my ingredients on a list to make it as quick of a process as possible but when you are shopping for ingredients in a different language and in a store that you have no idea where they store things it make it a little more complicated. I must say the boys were fairly accommodating during my quest for ingredients and I think I got everything I was looking for...except Maltose which the lady looked at me like I was crazy when I a...

Week 4 - Superbowl, clinic visit, shipment from Ireland, unpacking, bday party #2

This week was pretty busy actually but not a lot of stuff to talk about so I will try to keep it short. Monday Mike found us a place to watch the Superbowl and have breakfast which was pretty cool.  Since we moved to Ireland we haven't been able to really watch it because of the time difference but since here the time difference is so big it kind of works out.  What we have been doing is putting the boys to bed and taking a 'nap' with them then waking up around midnight to have a few Superbowl treats and watch the broken down slow slingbox version of the game.  It is pretty much torture but we do it until half time just to see as many commercials as we can...then we normally pass out or I stay up and watch a little more so that I can give Mike the update in the morning.  But this year we were at the bar (at 8am) watching the game.  Mike had to go to work after the game so he had coffee but I wouldn't pass up a chance for beer!  We had a good time actuall...
